Michigan Hemoglobinopathy Quality Improvement Program

This program works to implement a comprehensive public health plan to address the needs of children and adults with hemoglobinopathies, particularly sickle cell disease across the lifespan.

A statewide comprehensive program that assist individuals with a sickle cell condition throughout Michigan including: adult testing for sickle cell disease & trait; confirmatory newborn screening lab testing; disease education; social work services; education & career development; and genetic counseling. All services are free.
